The Mass has two main parts: the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. In the first we listen to God speaking; in the second we offer thanks and receive Holy Communion.
Knowing the structure helps us take part with greater attention. Next time you attend Mass, try following the movement from listening, to offering, to receiving, to being sent out.
